Hydrated Lime 1Kg

Hydrated lime is added to a bath of cold water. The process is called, cold lime pasteurisation and it’s as simple as soaking the straw for 12 – 24 hours in the lime bath.

Adding enough hydrated lime will quickly increase the pH of the cold water, eliminating the mould spores, bacteria, and other possible contaminants present in the straw.
