What is the easiest way to get started?
We have Ready to Grow oyster Mushroom Kits. These are very simple to use and have everything you need to get started – you only need to spray the outside with tap water 1 to 2 times a day and watch your mushrooms grow.
What do I need and where can I buy the ingredients?
We have a ‘Grow it from scratch’ package for everything you need to get started.
How long do these grow kits last?
Fruiting life: 8 to 12 weeks.
Once I have a grow kit, do I need to keep buying starters?
These buckets may have a second or even third flush every after 2 to 3 weeks from harvest, however, we cannot guarantee this due to different growth factors. Please be aware that each harvest after that usually becomes smaller; fruiting fewer and fewer mushrooms, until the bucket stops.
How many oyster mushrooms would this yield (approx)?
The point of these kits is just to experience the process of growing your own oyster mushrooms at home in the easiest way possible. The number of mushrooms this bucket will produce will vary depending on how much you look after it, with the combination of regular water spraying and lots of fresh air. Given these mushrooms are endemic/native, they will grow perfectly in NZ weather conditions.
